Spiritual world

After a longer absence, living and working in Spain, Milica Lukic and Miroslav Perkovic are showing in the Gallery of the Cultural Center of Belgrade their latest works. In fact, sculptures and objects.

This time again they choose metal, treating it each in its own way, sharing completely pure form and concise sculptural vocabulary. This minimalism, however radiates a certain subtle lyricism.

Profiled object by Milica Lukic, polyhedron of the same height, is repeated on the gallery wall at regular intervals - the rhythm. The 'channel' on the front of the object is filled with color. 'Leaves' by Miroslav Perkovic are colored as much as steel can catch the light and reflections. One ('leaf-fruit') leaning against the wall of the gallery, with sharpness of its edges and reflections that dictate track of a treating surface, introduce elevated tone in the atmosphere of suppressed breath, which radiates this theirs show.

Changing the viewing angle, objects on the wall of Milica Lukic are revealing more or less colored surface of the core of work. This non-striking transformation in the space stands in counterpoint to the form of Miroslav Perkovic - which has, in its immobility, immanent movement as a concept. Work of Milica Lukic and Miroslav Perkovic - as much as they act as the state of the rational and functional thought - are the emotional trace of the pathway that Perkovic will call 'exile' and of the 'silence'* that Lukic will call patience.

One sophisticated and plenty (world of) spiritual world reached by works of Lukic and Perkovic recalls on Apollinaire's statement according to which: 'too many artists still adore plants, stones, the wave, or man'.
